Point And Shoot Takes Best
Long Island Arts Council At Freeport is holding its Annual
Juried Photography Show this month in the main lobby of the
Freeport Memorial Library. The Art Councilís director, Marnie
Katzman, told FNYN that this is one of the most popular
photography shows on Long Island.
This yearís best in show went
to Lawrence Ruderman for his photo Tractors and Barn.
Ruderman explained that he took the photo in the early 90ís
while on a trip to photograph a balloon festival in Vermont. He
said that the photo was scanned into a computer and was pretty
much the same as it was taken, except for the enhancement of the
red. When Ruderman was asked about his Best In Show, he said,
"I entered three photos in the show. I hoped I would get
